Mount Sinai appears at the center of the painting, meeting clouds of mist and a warm, glowing fire from above.
The gentle, blended colors create a feeling of standing right at the line where earth meets heaven. At the heart of the scene shines a small blue point - a sapphire stone.
It marks the meeting place between the spiritual and the physical, and it hints at the moment the Tablets were given.
This idea is rooted in the ancient teaching that the Tablets of the Covenant were made of sapphire, as the Midrash says:
“The writing of God was engraved upon the Tablets  -  upon stone tablets of sapphire.” 
"כְּתַב אֱלֹהִים חָרוּת עַל הַלֻּחֹת - בְּלוּחוֹת הָאֲבָנִים שֶׁל סַפִּיר."
(Midrash Tanchuma, Buber edition, Ki Tissa 31)
The Torah also describes a vision of sapphire at Sinai:
“And beneath His feet was like the work of a pavement of sapphire.” 
"וְתַחַת רַגְלָיו כְּמַעֲשֵׂה לִבְנַת הַסַּפִּיר"
(Exodus 24:10)
In the painting, the small blue point becomes a simple but powerful sign of connection - between light and cloud, heaven and earth, the revealed and the hidden - inviting the viewer to pause and sense a touch of that ancient moment.
